Balance is due on or before July 8, 2009. Any booking after July 9, 2009 is subject to availability plus additional late fee penalty will apply. Rates shown reflects discount for payment made by check. You may make your final payment with your credit card but 4% additional processing fee will apply. Friday, October 9, 2009 ARRIVE TEL AVIV Arrive Tel Aviv Airport, where we will be welcomed by our tour guide and bus driver. Transfer to our hotel for rest and later dinner and overnight.
Saturday, October 10, 2009 CAESAREA/HAIFA/CANA/MOUNT CARMEL/NAZARETH This morning, we visit Caesarea with its Roman temple, royal palace, amphitheater and public buildings. Continue to Haifa and Mount Carmel to visit Stella Maris Carmelite Monastery and Church with Elijah’s Cave. Continue to Cana, the traditional site where Jesus performed His first public miracle at the wedding. We continue the day in Nazareth, where we celebrate Holy Mass at the Church of the Annunciation, the Holy Grotto, the Church of St. Joseph and Mary’s Well.
Sunday, October 11, 2009 GALILEE/CAPERNAUM/MT. BEATITUDES/RIVER JORDAN Today we will explore the Galilee Region and sites along the Sea of Galilee. Capernaum where Jesus preached in the Synagogue, St. Peter’s House, Mount of Beatitudes, where we celebrate Holy Mass, Tabgha, where Jesus multiplied the loaves of bread and fish; and the baptismal site at the River Jordan. We will also enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.
Monday, October 12, 2009 MOUNT TABOR/MEGIDDO/JAFFA/JERUSALEM Depart the Galilee region on our way to Jerusalem. We stop on Mount Tabor, the traditional site of Jesus’ transfiguration, where we celebrate Holy Mass at the Franciscan Church and Convent. Then to Megiddo to see the archaeological mound and from there to Old Jaffa, present day Tel Aviv, to visit the old town and the Church of St. Peter. Continue up to Jerusalem.
Tuesday, October 13, 2009 MOUNT OF OLIVES/BETHLEHEM/EIN KAREM We start our day with the Mount of Olives, Church of Pater Noster, down to Dominus Flevit and St. Mary Magdalene Church, and the Garden of Gethsemane. On to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity, Holy Manger, the Basilica of St. Catherine, the Milk Grotto and the Shepherds’ Field. On the way back, we stop in Ein Karem to visit the Church of the Visitation, where we celebrate Holy Mass.
Wednesday, October 14, 2009 OLD CITY OF JERUSALEM/MOUNT ZION We enter the Old City to visit the Church of St. Anne, Pools of Bethesda and follow the Stations of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Visit Golgotha and the Burial and Resurrection place of Jesus. We walk through the Cardo to the Western Wall. On to Mount Zion, visiting the Room of the Last Supper, House of Caiaphas and Church of St. Peter, where we celebrate Holy Mass.
Thursday, October 15, 2009 BETHANY/JERICHO/DEAD SEA This morning we visit Bethany and the House of Mary and Martha and their brother Lazarus. We see the church and the tomb of Lazarus and later continue through the Judean Wilderness to Jericho, where we celebrate Holy Mass at the Catholic Church and school. Then we visit the ancient excavations at Tel Jericho and view Mount of Temptation before continuing to the Dead Sea to experience the salt water of the sea. We stop at Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls where discovered. Return to Jerusalem.
Friday, October 16, 2009 TEL AVIV/MILAN/PADUA Transfer to Tel Aviv airport, and take our flight to Milan, Italy. Upon arrival, we will be welcomed by our tour escort and bus driver for a panoramic city tour of the center of Milan including the Cathedral. Time permitting, we celebrate Holy Mass before continue to our hotel.
Saturday, October 17, 2009 PADUA/VENICE This morning we visit Padua, the home of St. Anthony, patron saint of things lost. We celebrate Holy Mass and then visit the richly decorated tomb inside the Basilica that contains the remains of the beloved miracle-worker. Then to Venice, where we begin a guided half-day city tour and visit the Golden Basilica of San Marco, the Bridge of Sighs, St. Mark’s Square and the Doge’s Palace (from outside). After Holy Mass, we will have some free time to browse and shop around on our own before returning back to our hotel.
Sunday, October 18, 2009 PADUA/FLORENCE/ASSISI Today we drive to Florence, the splendid capital of Tuscany. Our tour includes the magnificent Santa Maria Del Fiore, Giotto’s Bell Tower and the sculptured studded Signoria Square. We will have some time to browse and shop on our own before we take our motor coach to Assisi. In the afternoon, we explore the hilltop birthplace of St. Francis. In the crypt of St. Francis Basilica lies the tomb of one of the most beloved saints of all time, St. Francis of Assisi. See the Basilica of St. Clare and down to the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, where we celebrate Holy Mass.
Monday, October 19, 2009 ASSISI/CASCIA/LORETO/ROME Depart to Cascia, and visit the Basilica of St. Rita, the Chapel with St. Rita’s incorrupt body, and the relics of St. Rita. Continue to the great Marian Shrine of Loreto, to see the family home of Jesus, Mary and Joseph located inside the Basilica of Loreto, where it has been since 1294. Drive to Rome.
Tuesday, October 20, 2009 ROME/VATICAN/BASILICAS This morning we visit the heart, home and spiritual capital for Catholic around the world. Visit St. Peter’s Basilica, the crypt of Pope John Paul II. Then to the other major Basilicas of Rome: Basilica of St. Mary Major, where we celebrate Holy Mass, then the Basilica of St. John in Lateran and the Holy Stairs. We will enjoy a panoramic city tour of ancient Rome passing by the Coliseum, the Forum and the many piazzas and fountains.
Wednesday, October 21, 2009 PAPAL AUDIENCE/VATICAN MUSEUMS This morning transfer to the Vatican City to join pilgrims from around the world for an audience with his holiness Pope Benedict XVI (subject to Holy Father’s health and schedule). Following the audience, we will have some free time for lunch and shopping and then we visit the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel to admire the works of Michelangelo.
Thursday, October 22, 2009 ROME/USA Transfer to Rome airport to take our flights back home.
